Les Baux

ここも聖ヴィクトワール山からは車で一時間半くらい？
カナダにいるルットの友人であるサンダーから推奨を受けてやってきました。
大正解。山中にある、まるでそのまま山の岩を彫ってできたような街でした。
街はかわいらしいのに、お城は、そのまま山の形状を利用してできた天然の防御壁。
街に住むひとはさぞ心強かったことでしょう。
ちなみに、ボーキサイトという資源は、この地で初めて見つかったので、このBauxから名前が来ているんです。
雑学ですが、これもサンダーが教えてくれたそうです。

Here it is also about a hour from Mt. Victoire.
Ruud's friend in Canada, Sander has recommended this place for us.
The city has cute attraction yet the castle has a strong natural defense, fully
utilizing its own rocky environment.
Bauxite, one of natural resources, has taken name from this city because
it was first found here, which Ruud was told by Sander as well...

As we hold the finder the dog came along to take a pose.

プロヴァンス一般に、街を歩いていると、お腹がすいてなくても、自然に購買欲がわいてしまいます。
それは絶対に、このすばらしいプレゼンテーション能力のたまものです。
フランスの人々はこういうとこでやっぱりセンスにあふれていますよね。

Walking in Provence in general, we are constantly tempted by full colours
which makes us buy foods even if we are not yet hungry.
