Rousillon

キャンプ場からは車で一時間半から二時間だったでしょうか。
さすがは色の専門家のルットの強い希望からです。
ここではオーカーという色の素を土からとっています。高い含蓄率らしくみごとな土の色です。
歩いているだけで文字通りアースカラーに染まってしまった一日でした。
履いていたサンダルなんか、みごとなみかん色になって帰ってきました。

From the capmping it was about one hour and half to two hours.
It was Ruud's strong wish to visit there, since he is a colour specialist.
They take 'ocre' from the earth.
Only by walking in ocre hills, people were getting yellowish.
My originally red sandals were orangy when we left there.

黄、赤、黄、と斜めに層が走っているのがくっきりと。

Yellow, red, yellow, you can see the layers clearly.

子供たちなんかはよろこんで駆けずり回っていました。
まっ黄色なお尻をした子達も。
ズボンについた土はお洗濯で落ちるのかしら。
と、その子のお母さんでもないのに要らない心配をしてました。

Children were excited and running around vigorously.
As result some of their bottoms were totally yellow!
I don't know if the pigment can be washed away.
I am not their mother though I got a bit worried.

まぶしいくらいの黄色。

Bright yellow squiinting your eyes!

さすがどのお家もアースカラーで塗られています。
プロヴァンスの強い日差しがあってこそ映える色かもしれません。

Evey house was painted with earth-toned colour.
These colours are maybe only beautiful under the bright sun in Provence.

大きすぎて写真に入らないのですが、谷での農作の様子がかわいらしい模様を描いていました。

Too huge a view to get it in one picture. I could see patchwork of land's agriculture.
